A Great Story # 1 from school 689, Moscow
Dear friends, we’d like to share this
story with you.
As soon as our school was selected to be
part of GEMS program
everybody became very excited. The only
problem was- where to get money to buy computer tables, blinds
and how to pay for some reconstruction of the GEMS Lab room. It
was absolutely clear that there were no money in the budget, so
we decided to turn to our parents for help. And… Nobody has
even expected such enthusiasm!
We don’t have really rich families at
school but more than 50 families donated money to our new Lab.
Some could give only like $5 or $10, but some families brought $
50 and even more! It is so nice that people understand how
important our work in collaborative projects is.
Now we have almost $550 which will be enough
to cover our expences.
And we have already started the
reconstruction. One of the parents helped us to buy computer
tables at the factory ( which is cheaper than in the
store). Now we are sure that if we managed to make a difference
in our school we’ll be able to make a difference in the
world through telecommunications!
